About me

Animals are an amazing venue for connecting with other people and sharing the experiences that make us human. Dogs remind us to live in the present, to laugh daily and find joy in the little things.

Since 2003, I’ve been coaching humans and training dogs, from Montana to New York to Oregon and lots of places in between. My teaching style is upbeat, honest, understanding and galvanizing. I enjoy combining practical and creative approaches that foster fast results. I have always used the most up-to-date, scientifically-sound positive reinforcement training techniques. This means using food, play, clickers, and life rewards (I like to say that positive isn’t permissive!), which is just as important as what I don’t use: side-effect-causing punishment methods.

My Mission

I am committed to training dogs (and cats! and horses!) with fear-free, positive-reinforcement training techniques that are fun, effective, and easy to learn. I aim to empower and educate dog guardians to create a well-behaved and cherished family member.

Accreditations and Associations

I have had the opportunity to watch Jenn work with a variety of dogs and owners. I watched as she adjusted her exercises for shy dogs, bold dogs, busy dogs, clumsy owners, child trainers, seniors and even a couple who warred with each other for an entire semester.
Jenn’s patience and consistent, positive approach elicited the best from all of us.
Then, she would raise the bar just a bit and encourage even finer results. She invented games that added humor and zest to our efforts and her suggestions when we hit a sticking point have been invaluable.
I am sure that if you choose Jenn to work with you and your dog, you will be delighted with the many talents she brings to her task.
