I am pleased to announce that Terra earned her Nosework 1 Title in Litchfield CT on May 24th. She made me very proud by handling the many distractions with grace and aplomb, even though I was very nervous!
The hide was in the hitch of the truck. She found it in 18 seconds!
There were four search areas, each with one hide. An interior room, an exterior area, a vehicle search, and a container search of boxes. Terra was very focused on her job and found all of her hides extremely quickly!
This was our first NASCW Nosework trial experience, so there were many things to learn. I knew that you could not earn a title without finding the hide in all four searches, but I didn't know that you could earn placings by being fast as well. I was so very proud to find out that Terra earned 4th place, out of 36 dogs, and was only 20 seconds behind the fastest dog of the day!
